Alexandre CARLIN – Compositeur & Arrangeur

Clarinettist, Alexandre Carlin is a french composer, arranger and conductor.
Since 1996, he has been director of the music school of the city of Bû in Eure-et-Loir and conducts the young band there as well as the concert band.
At the same time, he was from 1996 to 2013 the musician-copyist if the French National Police Band.
From 1995 to 2000, he was associate director of the young band of Eure-et-Loir (France).
Associate professor of music, since 2013 he has been a teacher of music education and choral singing at the Charles de Gaulle collège in Bû, and since 2019 at the Rotrou high school in Dreux.
He holds a degree in musicology issued by the french university of Paris IV Sorbonne, a state diploma in musical ensemble conducting, a CEM in composition obtained at the conservatory of Mantes in Yvelines and a diploma of aptitude to the direction of musical societies (DADSM) issued by the « Confédération Musicale de France » (CMF).
He also took courses in music composition for movies at the Levallois-Perret conservatory in the class of Pierre Manchot.
Passionate about wind bands, he is the author of more than 200 works, including many educational pieces often imposed in competitions, exams and festivals.
He received the 1st prize in the composition competition organized by the « Confédération Française des Batterie-Fanfares » (CFBF) in 2003, and 1st and 2nd prizes at the same competition in 2004.
He was a finalist in the CMF European composition competition in 2005. In 2019, he won the 2nd prize in the WASBE composition competition with his Euphonium Concerto.
